OUR PROGRESS IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
North Sails' commitment to a lasting future
At North Sails, we believe that every step toward sustainability matters. That’s why we’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint and increasing our use of renewable energy across our global operations.
MEASURING OUR IMPACT
In 2023, we took a major step forward by beginning to measure both direct and indirect carbon emissions across our operations. Understanding our impact allows us to implement effective reduction strategies, ensuring that every decision we make moves us closer to a more sustainable future.

INVESTING IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
A key part of our sustainability strategy is transitioning to renewable energy. Our goal is to achieve 80% renewable energy consumption across our 40 sites by 2030. To reach this milestone, we plan to increase our renewable energy use by 38% by the end of 2025, bringing us to 48% across 14 countries. We’re making this happen by investing in renewable energy tariffs and, where feasible, expanding on-site renewable energy generation.
Over the past two years, we’ve conducted a deep dive into electricity consumption across all our global sites. One standout initiative took place in Sri Lanka, where a comprehensive energy audit identified ways to reduce electricity usage by up to 8%. Beyond conservation, we’re also looking at ways to support local renewable infrastructure, helping to create long-term environmental benefits.
SOLAR POWER IN SRI LANKA
In locations where supporting local renewable energy isn’t an option, we’re taking matters into our own hands. In Sri Lanka, we’ve launched the first phase of an ambitious project to install solar arrays on the roofs of our manufacturing facilities. Once operational, this system is projected to generate a significant amount of electricity annually—helping power our cutting-edge 3Di manufacturing facility while significantly reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

100% GREEN ENERGY IN MINDEN
Not all locations are suited for on-site renewable energy generation, but that doesn’t mean we’re compromising on sustainability. In Minden, we’ve secured a 100% green energy tariff that will take effect in July 2025. This ensures that our operations there will be fully powered by renewable sources, even without on-site infrastructure.
MOVING TOWARD A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us—it’s a commitment we take seriously. By focusing on energy efficiency, increasing our renewable energy usage, and investing in long-term solutions, we’re making real progress toward our goal of surpassing 80% renewable energy usage by 2030.
Stay tuned as we continue to push the boundaries of sustainability, ensuring that North Sails remains a leader in eco-conscious innovation.
