As one of the four TV commentators, Read is bringing to life all the action as it unfolds on the Hauraki Gulf in Auckland, New Zealand. He is also wearing his North Sails hat, and he is fully aware that the partnership between North Sails and the America’s Cup is putting the industry leader on the fast-track for sailmaking evolution and innovation. “We couldn’t do it without the America’s Cup,” Read said. “For North Sails, the America’s Cup is a fast-track design evolution. We’re constantly climbing the ladder for product development for our company. I know how much these teams are counting on us. We need to deliver better than what they expect because that’s what we do.
