172 years of history. 36 races. Six teams. Only one spot on the winner’s podium.
This year, the America’s Cup, a sailing challenge that separates our sport’s best from the rest, is back on European seas, sailing into Barcelona’s Port Vell for its 37th edition.
We’re proud to be the sailmaker of choice for all six teams in the competition — providing our unbeatable 3Di sails on every custom-designed Next Generation AC75 yacht.

THE LEGEND OF THE CUP
The America’s Cup's legacy runs deep. It’s the oldest international sporting tournament in the world, established in 1851 by the British Royal Yacht Squadron with a spectacular race around the Isle of Wight.
Originally named the ‘100 Guineas Cup’, the iconic 14kg sterling silver trophy was renamed in honour of its first-ever winner, New York Yacht Club’s ‘America’. Since then, it has captivated and evaded many of the best sailing teams in the world.
RACE-LEADING INNOVATION
North Sails has played a pivotal role in the history of the America’s Cup, supplying every Cup Defender and Challenger since 1988. We exist at the same intersection of heritage and innovation as the Cup itself, and our sails have graced the most illustrious yachts in the races, from the classic 12-metres to the cutting-edge foiling catamarans and the most recent AC75 editions.
