With a constant drive to innovate, Tringale explains how the sail design and performance evolve throughout an America's Cup campaign
Each America's Cup team strives to design the fastest boat to advance them in their quest to capture the coveted Auld Mug. For NYYC American Magic sail designer Max Tringale, that means constant improvements to the sails that can help their team squeeze out every ounce of speed.
"In sail design, there's always room to improve, explains Tringale. "You can tweak sail shapes until the last race, pushing the boundaries of 3Di technology to achieve the perfect balance of low stretch, stiffness, and durability." With a constant drive to innovate, Tringale explains how the process evolves: "It's exciting to design something, see it built, and then watch it perform on the water. This journey over the past few years has been an amazing learning experience."
