The line between “upwind” and “downwind” sailing has become ever more blurred, with more modern boats and rigs typically sailing at much tighter wind angles and higher apparent wind speeds, even when VMG and VMC sailing. However, materials for wider apparent wind angle asymmetric spinnakers have changed little. North Sails developed AEROTECH to address the fact that modern boats demand a reimagined approach to materials for downwind sailing.

Head of North Advanced Textiles Tom Davis led the development of AEROTECH in collaboration with Grand Prix sales leader Paul Westlake and world-renowned sails designers JB Braun, Mickey Ickert, and Dave Lenz.  

A: AEROTECH is a complete end-to-end product line that covers the smallest One Design class through to the rigors of Maxi 100 racing.
