HEALTHY OCEAN. STEADY WINDS.
North Sails is the sailmaking industry’s leading and largest brand, and we have an opportunity to have a positive impact. The ocean is our source of life and it’s what keeps us in business. To ensure a healthier ocean and to keep us sailing in this awe-inspiring environment, we are committed to making changes to our products and operations, as well as advocating for the health of the seas, winds, and life on earth.
Earth is our home and we need to look after it. That’s why we’re partnering with like-minded, forward-thinking citizens and organizations to reduce our environmental impact. Through cutting edge recycling research and development, and constant investigation of future manufacturing and material usage, we’re constantly working to protect our most precious resources.
We design sails to last. The take-make-waste culture needs to stop and North Sails is leading the way in the sailmaking industry. Using state of the art technology, we manufacture products that not only outperform the competition but also have unsurpassed longevity. Our sails are tested and proven in some of the most unforgiving environments, so no matter where your passion lies, you can have confidence in what you hoist.
People are at the heart of everything we do, and taking care of our employees is paramount to our culture. We operate our seven wholly owned manufacturing facilities worldwide, where health and safety standards are a priority. Our Safety Committees monitor and maintain occupational safety and health standards that equal or exceed the best practices in the industry. Just like a sailing crew, our team is what makes us great and many of our environmental initiatives—like vertical gardening at our manufacturing facility in Sri Lanka—were spearheaded by our employees.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCT INNOVATION
North Sails has always been at the forefront of technological advances in sail manufacturing. We’re utilizing this same approach to find solutions for sail recyclability, low-impact manufacturing, the use of alternative fibers, and opportunities for material circularity. In 2022, we started conducting lifecycle analyses of our manufacturing processes to find ways to decrease our carbon footprint, pollution, and waste without compromising performance or longevity of our products.
